Google is secretly launching this feature that everyone will love

Android Auto is good at what it does, but it has one major flaw that annoys everyone. It doesn’t let you search for a specific song, album, artist, or playlist without using Google Assistant. Good news, this is about to change.

As you know, Android Auto is a system that allows you to use your smartphone on the car screen. It allows you to listen to music, navigate, chat and more while driving. But it’s not perfect, and it lacks a key feature: the ability to search for a specific song, album, artist, or playlist in music streaming apps.

Android Auto: Quick music search at your fingertips

Currently listening to songs on Android Autoyou must use Google Assistant. You have to tell him the song title, artist, app and pray that he understands. Otherwise, you must make do with offers or playlists offered by apps. Keyboard input is not possible in Android Auto for security reasons.

But this may change soon. Google is testing a new feature that will allow users enter the name of the song or artist they want to listen to. If the car is parked, of course.

The search icon will appear at the top of the screen in all Android Auto compatible music apps such as Spotify, YouTube Music and more. The input will be similar to the input of navigation applications, which are blocked when the car starts to move.

This feature has been spotted in the recently released Android Auto 10.2 beta, but be aware that the icon doesn’t always appear. As such, it appears that Google is still in its testing phase and is gradually rolling out this feature for some users.
