His father said in a statement that the actor will “begin a natural healing process.”
After a violent motorcycle accident on Sunday, 56-year-old Matteo Kassovitz is doing better. The actor and director has undergone surgery for serious ankle, leg and pelvic injuries and is out of danger, according to information gathered from his entourage, who therefore wanted to be reassured. His days are not in danger.
His father, Peter, said in a statement: “Tonight’s operations went well. Matteo will begin a natural process of recovery, rest and fitness.” The latter thanked the “wonderful nursing staff who are doing everything they can for his good recovery.”
No head trauma
The public prosecutor in Evry said Mathieu Kassovitz had come to take advanced motorcycle driving lessons at the Linas-Monthliery motor circuit in Essonne. After losing control of the vehicle on his own, he was thrown off the two-wheeler and fell violently to the ground. The actor, who was wearing a helmet at the time, did not suffer any head trauma.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Evry opened an investigation into the causes of the injuries and entrusted it to the Urban Security Squad of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois in Essonne.
