Soccer. Simone Inzaghi extends Inter’s coaching contract by one year

Simone Inzaghi, in charge since June 2021, has extended his contract as Inter Milan coach by one year until 2025, the Italian championship leader announced on Tuesday. “Inter Milan are delighted to announce the extension of the contract of coach Simon Inzaghi, who is now tied to the club until 2025.”read Inter’s brief statement.

Inzaghi (47) led the Lombard club to the Champions League final last season where his team lost (1-0) to Manchester City. Under his leadership, Inter have won the last two editions of the Italian Cup (2022, 2023). Before Inter, the former player, younger brother of Filippo, managed Lazio Roma from 2016 to 2021.

Inter lead the Italian league with nine points from three games, level with arch-rivals AC Milan. The two teams meet on 16 September when Serie A resumes after the international break.
