Paolo Zanetti was fired by Empoli, Aurelio Andreazzoli replaces him

A first dismissal took place this Tuesday in Serie A. Paolo Zanetti, coach of Empoli since the summer of 2022. He is replaced by Aurelio Andreazzoli, who has already coached the club three times (2017-2018, 2018- 2019, 2021) -2022).

Paolo Zanetti is paying for the team’s poor start to the season, which lost heavily on Sunday in the Championship at Rome (0-7). With four losses in as many games, Empoli is at the bottom of Serie A.

Zanetti, 40, had held the position for a year. Prior to that, the former Italian defensive midfielder had experienced promotion to the elite with Venezia at the end of the 2020-21 financial year, before being sacked the following season.
