Council of Ministers: The Government approved the reform of the texts regulating the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso

(Ouagadougou, September 20, 2023). This Wednesday, the weekly Council of Ministers was held, under the chairmanship of the president of the transition, the head of state, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE. He considered the files on his agenda, said the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment Dr. Boubakar SAVADOGO, who was the government spokesman.

On behalf of the Ministry of Industrial Development, Trade, Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises, the Council adopted a report on the amendment of the Regulation on the determination of the status of the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce (CCI-BF). This decision on the reform of the texts regulating the CCI-BF aims to better direct its activities towards the defense, without excluding, the interests of those engaged in trade and industry in our country.

“The reform consists in making stakeholders more accountable to the CCI-BF by now establishing a contribution mechanism to ensure the functioning of consular bodies and the activities of all members of this body. It also consists of reshaping and rationalizing the management of the resources of this institution, facilitating and speeding up the realization of a series of large structural projects for the development of the sector through better precision and management of the powers and roles of men and women. women who lead the CCI-BF”, explained Minister Serge Gnaniodem PODA.

On behalf of the Ministry of Urban Planning, Land Affairs and Housing Affairs, the executive authority adopted a draft regulation that establishes the conditions for addressing the ministry in charge of construction and architecture for public works. According to Minister Mikaïlou SIDIBE, the adoption of this regulation will allow his department to be involved from beginning to end in the construction chain to ensure that public infrastructure will be built in accordance with quality standards.

Within the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Employment, the Council adopted four decrees, three of which fall within the framework of the operationalization of Law 050-2019 on the orientation law for sports and leisure. These are the “Regulation on the establishment and organization of sports and recreation management structures, the Regulation on granting subsidies to federations in various disciplines and the one relating to structures for the training of young athletes”, supported the minister in charge of sports.


The fourth regulation related to the organization and operation of the Tour du Faso aims to bring innovation to the 2023 edition, said Minister Boubakar SAVADOGO.
