Hespress won the award for the best information platform in the Arab world

A new coronation for Hespress. Moroccan electronic newspapers won the digital media award for the best news platform in the Arab world on Tuesday, during the 21st Arab Media Forum (AMF) held in Dubai.

The general manager of the electronic newspaper Hespress, Hassane El Guennouni, received the award from Arab Media Award committee member Ghassan Charbel, editor-in-chief of the London newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.

The Arab Media Awards 2023 ceremony was the culmination of the first day of the AMF, held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, and in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The event is attended by around 3,000 leaders from around the world, including ministers, heads of media institutions, editors-in-chief of newspapers, digital platforms, renowned writers, thinkers, opinion leaders and media creators.

Furthermore, the “Arab Media Award”, organized by the Dubai Press Club, includes 13 categories divided into its three main axes: journalistic, visual and digital, with an award in the “Media Personality of the Year” category awarded by the decision of the award’s board of directors.

Ahmed Diab, from Al-Ahram Al-Arabi newspaper, won the Arab Journalism Award in the political journalism category, and Jamal Gohar, from Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, won the Arab Journalism Award in the political journalism category.

Magdy Abou Al-Foutouh of the Egyptian newspaper Al-Chourouk won the Arab Journalism Award in the Economic Journalism category, and Asma Al Chamsi of Majid Magazine won the Arab Journalism Award in the Children’s Journalism category.

The Arqaam financial portal won the Digital Media award for the best economic platform, and the “FilGoal” platform was chosen for the best sports platform.

The program Jutro sa Siba won the visual media award in the category of the best economic program, the program Red Line in bold letters in the category of the best social program and the program Footsteps of the Arabs in the category of the best cultural program.

The film “Mémoire des Sables” won the award for the best documentary work, and the program “Fi Al-Goal” won the award for the best sports program.

Another highlight of the ceremony was Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum awarding writer Sawsan Al-Abtah the Arab Journalism Award in the category of Best Journalist Columnist and Mohammed Al-Rumaihi in the category of Media Personality.

Note that the Arab Media Forum is an essential platform for influential local media personalities, Arab professionals, foreign journalists, political and economic leaders and respected opinion leaders in the Middle East.
