The region finances the acquisition of equipment unique in France for

At the last meeting of the Standing Commission, the region voted for the purchase of modern equipment for University Hospital Institute (IHU) Everest in Lyon. An institution specializing in liver diseases will receive a latest-generation mass spectrometer, unique in France.

With this acquisition (€1.7 million), the Region strengthens its commitment to health innovation and the development of biomedical research.

The Everest Institute is committed to addressing current and future challenges in hepatology and, in particular, to advance the treatment of chronic liver diseases by combining precision medicine and innovative treatments.

Chronic liver disease, responsible for 17,000 deaths per year in France (source WHO), is a major health problem. whose work at IHU aims to better understand, diagnose and understand causes and symptoms, in particular through early therapeutic interventions and new disease classifications to personalize treatment.
