Galaxy Watch: Sleep Apnea Detection Confirmed for 2024

Samsung’s connected watches will get a new health feature in the future: sleep apnea detection. The South Korean firm just announced the news in a blog post published on February 9, 2024.

In detail, we learn that the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), the American body responsible for healthcare and drugs, has allowed Samsung to add this feature to its Samsung Health app.

The company recalls that it received approval from the South Korean Health and Drug Administration (MFDS) in October 2023.

To use this feature, users will simply need to track their sleep twice for four hours for ten days.“, explains the South Korean company. Please note: only people over 22 years old can use it.

As for the rollout of this new feature, Samsung is talking about the third quarter of 2024, which will coincide with the launch of the Galaxy Watch 7. At the moment, we don’t know if models before this future generation will be affected.
