13 African teams chose Morocco for the break

The African elections did not choose France or Spain for the international match, but preferred Morocco. What are the reasons for this choice?

There are a total of 13 African teams that have set up their bags in Morocco for this half of March (March 18 to 26) which coincides with the month of Ramadan.

All decided to spend their training in the Kingdom instead of other foreign countries, while European destinations were the most popular until then.

The reasons for this choice of Morocco are several and obvious for these choices, although we in Eastern Morocco will not understand much and we will put this choice back to non-football and rather political considerations.

In reality, the choice of Morocco is primarily explained by its electoral infrastructure, the quality of welcome, hospitality and services up to par, if not better than in Europe. .

Certain selections are used to choosing Morocco for this type of training, but also for their “home” matches. They know the staff, the managers, the places very well and especially appreciate the atmosphere in Morocco and play all the “home games” in Morocco as if it were their country. It is therefore not a new election, but a matter of continuity and habit for selections such as Niger.

On the other hand, the choice of Morocco is obviously for geographical reasons, the kingdom is still within the African continent. There are also linguistic reasons that work in favor of Morocco who speak French fluently, a language used in several African countries. Moroccan officials also speak English and therefore have no problem communicating fluently with most of the arriving choices.

But it is also for religious reasons that Morocco brings together all the qualities that these African football teams are looking for given that the majority of their players are practicing Muslims.

In this holy month of Ramadan, the entire sports program of the players is adapted to the times of Ramadan so that they are at their best, which would be difficult to achieve in non-Muslim countries.

The 13 choices include Mauritania, Libya, Comoros, all of which are Muslim. And other teams include some Muslim players, which contributes to the smooth completion of training sessions organized in the evening after sunset.

Only one selection does not include any Muslim player, Angola, and yet the country has chosen to go against Morocco like Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Ghana, Burkina Faso or even Guinea-Bissau and Togo.

All these selections also chose Morocco because, in this period from 18 to 26 March, this allowed them to play friendly matches without traveling. Their international break allowed them to rest, spend the month of Ramadan in a country that respects it and adapts to it by allowing matches at 10pm, and also find other selections ready to play against them.
