Roland-Garros: Djokovic, Nadal and 10 Frenchmen… Here are the first qualifiers for the big draw

Roland Garros is fast approaching. Six weeks before the start of the tournament, the Paris Grand Slam revealed the list of 104 players who qualified for the main draw.

The first 99 in the ATP ranking have their automatic place at the Porte d’Auteuil, five players have also used their protected ranking. Among them we obviously find Rafael Nadal, back on clay this week in Barcelona. Marin Cilic, Denis Shapovalov, Kei Nishikori and Kwon Soonwoo complete the list.

Gasquet, an invitation, qualifications or nothing?

At least ten Frenchmen will be there at Parisian ocher, obviously waiting for a good number of wildcards issued by the French Tennis Federation (FFT), and the results of the qualifiers. Ugo Humbert (13th) and Adrian Mannarino (20th) should benefit from seed status. Behind, Arthur Fils, Gaël Monfils, Arthur Cazaux, Arthur Rinderknech, Constant Lestienne, Corentin Moutet, Hugo Gaston and Luca Van Assche are among the lucky ones.

On the other hand, Richard Gasquet (112th) fails to make the cut and has to rely on qualifying or taking advantage of an invitation to the potential final Roland Garros of his career. Alexandre Muller, Harold Mayot, Grégoire Barrère and Terence Atmane are also absent from this first “sign-up list”.

Among the women, five tricolors participate directly in the main draw: Caroline Garcia, Clara Burel, Diane Parry, Océane Dodin and the naturalized Varvara Gracheva. Alongside them they will find Germany’s Angelique Kerber and Japan’s Naomi Osaka who used their protected classification after giving birth to their first child in 2023.
