In this episode, the Qatar 365 team discovers the world of two racket sports that are among the most popular: tennis and padel.

Laila Humairah tries her hand at padel and allows herself to be tempted by one of the fastest growing sports in the world. The Ooredoo Qatar Tournament in Doha is the first major stage of the 2024 Premier Padel season and is part of a new unified global professional ecosystem that includes 25 tournaments organized in 18 countries. Qatar, which hosts the World Cup in November, still has some pleasant surprises in store for fans of padel.

Attending the meetings of professional padel players is fun, but Doha is the ideal place for those who want to try playing padel themselves. With the continued development of sports infrastructure, padel fans can enjoy outdoor courts, such as those in Education City, or indoor facilities, such as The Dome. For those looking to improve their tactical skills, there are plenty of training options available at most of these locations.

But despite its rapid growth, padel still has a way to go before it can compete with tennis. Recently, the Qatar TotalEnergies Open confirmed the popularity of the sport, bringing major players such as Ons Jabeur to Doha. Aadel Haleem spoke to the 29-year-old Tunisian star, who looks back on her achievements, including being the first African and Arab woman to reach the final of a Grand Slam tournament. Ons Jabeur sends an inspiring message to young women and girls: always believe in your dreams, because nothing is impossible.
