Moroccan youth are committed to sustainable development in New York

Moroccan youth are highlighted during the Youth Forum held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

Filed under “Strengthening the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises“, this event highlights the commitment of young Moroccans to sustainable development and climate justice. Hatim Aznague, ambassador of the African Youth Climate Hub, emphasized the importance that His Majesty King Mohammed VI attaches to the empowerment and participation of young people in development processes.

During the Forum, the key role of young people was highlighted in the evaluation of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which aims to promote peaceful societies, guarantee access to justice for all and establish efficient institutions. Morocco is recognized for its efforts in this direction, establishing inclusive and responsible institutions, as well as promoting education and climate action.

At a meeting on Arab regional challenges, Aznague also highlighted King Mohammed VI’s commitment to the Palestinian cause. He noted that Morocco is the only country offering direct humanitarian aid via an unprecedented land route to Gaza.

This act therefore demonstrates Morocco’s continued commitment to promoting peace, security and the well-being of its people.
