Monday 22 April at 8:30 pm, Cinema l’Atelier presents a cinematic encounter (one-time price €5.50) about the documentary “Gérard Bloncourt – Le francshooter de l’image”. The meeting will be hosted by Sylvia Voser, director, and Margot de Margaret, storyteller and author. This film is a portrait of photographer Gerald Bloncourt (1926-2018). As a young man, in 1946, due to his political commitments, he was expelled from his native Haiti to France. Gerald Bloncourt then became the great photographer of workers’ struggles, of Portuguese immigrants camped in the slums around Paris, of the Polisario Front’s struggle for independence in southern Morocco… He also became a witness to daily life, of children playing in the streets. The streets, the stars of song and cinema, the lovers walking. When Margot prepared Dr. Marguerite exhibited at an exhibition by Gérald Bloncourt at the Musée Champollion in 2017. Director Sylvia Vosser was impressed and impressed by the quality of these images. She decided to take advantage of her visit to Figeac to make a film about him. Bloncourt, a world-famous artist, has a colorful personality, full of humor and conviction.
