Marie Héry: football in all its forms

Plérin FC player, Marie Héry, hopes to qualify for the final of the Brittany Futsal Cup.

Brittany Cup. EA Saint-Renan – Plérin FC, this Friday (20:30)

Futsal and eleven-a-side footballer in Plérin FC, Marie Héry wears several hats in the world of football. In particular, she is the technical coordinator for the Côtes-d’Armor district and works with young people to teach them how to play together. To do this, it travels to schools, so that everyone can play football, and most importantly: together, without discrimination at level. – The ball cycles are included in the children’s playtime, in collaboration with the teacher, explains Marie Héry. They allow, under different rules, to adapt the practice in a fun way, but also to deconstruct the negative image of football. “The teachers like to see the children playing together and observe that the rules that are in place are reused during recess,” explains Marie Héry.

Looking for a third final

Women’s football is growing, with more players, but also more clubs putting in the funds to create women’s sections. But the women’s futsal section in Plérin is underdeveloped. So someone has to manage a bit of everything, and it is Marie Héry who took on this responsibility. Being “a coordinator, I’m not a coach,” says the midfielder.

This Friday the girls of Plérin FC will compete in the semi-finals of the Brittany Futsal Cup in Saint-Renan, looking to secure a third consecutive final. Even if the players don’t think about it (“We’ll see after Friday’s game”, smiles Marie Héry), it would be an opportunity to replay a final against Ploërmel (if they beat Rennes), after this year’s defeat. last.
