Retail: More than 100 startups supported as part of the Moroccan Retail Tech Builder

The Moroccan Retail Tech Builder (MRTB), pioneer in the digitalization of commerce in Morocco, marked an important milestone on April 19 in Bouskoura by celebrating the achievement of its first objective: supporting 100 start-ups in the field of Retail Tech. This step represents the beginning of a revolution in the Moroccan commercial landscape, in perfect line with the strategic ambitions of modernization and digitalization of the sector.

The Moroccan Retail Tech Builder, founded in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and the OCP Foundation, has established itself as the main national platform focused on supporting start-ups operating in the RetailTech. It provides entrepreneurs with the necessary support to develop their solutions and thus contributes to the digital transformation of the sector.

This event is intended as a showcase of the achievements made by the start-ups supported over the past three years, and as an opportunity for partner institutions to celebrate the success of a commitment made with pride.

Launched in 2021, the Moroccan Retail Tech Builder initially set itself the mission of supporting around a hundred startups that provide innovative solutions for the digitalization and modernization of commerce, a fundamental sector of the Moroccan economy. Today, the realization of this first important step opens the way to new perspectives to further promote the autonomy and competitiveness of the retail sector through the revitalization of the Moroccan Retail Tech ecosystem and the strengthening of cooperation between the different partners.

The event is part of a global approach aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs by connecting with key players in the Moroccan Retail Tech ecosystem and the emergence of fruitful collaborations between companies and supported startups.

In a continued dynamic of openness and collaboration with the various stakeholders, the MRTB joins forces with new partners, sponsors of the event, with the common desire to act on several fronts in particular, financial inclusion, support for young entrepreneurs and the implementation of the developed solutions. These include Plug and Play, a global innovation platform, a start-up accelerator, M2T, payment institution of the BCP group, Al Barid Bank, SA banking subsidiary of the Barid Al-Maghrib Group, Visa, one of the world leaders in electronic payments, and Glovo, one of the technological leaders in multi-category delivery in Morocco.
