Ramonville-Saint-Anier. Robotics enters the arena in a fun way

On Saturday 27 April (from 10:00 to 18:00, free entry) Planète Sciences Occitane is organizing the 31st Junior Robotics Cup at the Cité de l’espace.

This is a regional meeting on scientific and technical problems that invites teams of young participants (from 7 to 18 years old) to create a wire-controlled robot that develops autonomously on the playing field.

A fun and educational way to discover the fields of robotics: mechanical, electrical, computing and electronics. Over the course of several matches, robots will have to complete missions and work together so that their team can win points. These meetings, regional and national for qualified teams, provide an opportunity to test, promote and review their work.

March, here we are

This year’s theme, Farming on Mars, promises an exciting adventure. Imagine robots landing on Mars with the mission of preparing the ground to ensure the survival of the human colony. Their task? Make the greenhouse autonomous, harvest crops and accumulate food supplies.

Each team will develop a wire-controlled robot that can navigate an environment that simulates the surface of Mars. Robots will have to perform various missions such as planting seeds, collecting vegetables and managing water resources.

In addition to technical skills, collaboration and communication within teams are essential to success. The top three teams will have the chance to qualify for the final of the French Robotics Cup, which will take place from May 8 to 11 in La Roche-sur-Yon. They will join other participants from across Europe.

Planete Sciences Occitanie, located in the Canal Technology Park, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024. Its goal is to promote and develop interest, practice and knowledge in the fields of science, technology and digital technologies among young people in an experimental and interesting way. team projects. The Junior Robotics Cup is an ideal opportunity for young people to learn about science.
