DIn response to an oral question on the direct housing support program, read on her behalf by Ghita Mezzour, the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, she underlined that this program, which extends from 2024 to 2028, has caused intense unrest and the growing interest among Moroccans since its launch in January 2024.

The government official revealed that the number of requests in the different regions of the Kingdom totals more than 65,000, of which 90% meet the conditions to benefit from them within a period of up to 30 days. Within the deadline, applicants can renew registration to benefit from direct housing assistance.

According to the data cited by the minister, 20% of requests for direct housing assistance, covering all regions of the Kingdom, were submitted by Moroccans living abroad, while 38% were submitted by women.

El Mansouri noted in this regard that his department held periodic meetings with the National Federation of Real Estate Developers, the National Order of Notaries and the Caisse de dépôt et de gestion, to assess the effectiveness of the operation. A working session is planned with the banks with the same goal.

The Minister recalled the considerations that led to the adoption of the direct housing support program, while demand for economic housing continued despite the end of the old contractual program in December 2020. She explained that her department had taken a new approach to supporting demand instead of supporting supply and integrating the middle class into the new program, as well as the possibility of supporting a diversified supply (apartments or individual houses) in response to the expectations and particularities of the rural world, and on openness to small and medium-sized businesses.

El Mansouri also assessed the measures taken in this context, which mainly result in the conclusion of a series of agreements with various stakeholders, the creation of a digital platform for the management of aid requests from the Caisse de dépôt et de gestion (CDG Prévoyance), facilitating procedures, dematerialization, control of deadlines and improvement of program performance.
