Fast food: Quick successfully returns to the French market… before it is resold?

Should we see the first signs of a comeback? In 2023, Quick saw its turnover increase by 20% to 415 million euros. Even though the brand lags far behind McDonald’s, Burger King or KFC. “Today we are just a small player in a big pie (the hamburger market) of 10 billion euros,” acknowledges CEO Frédéric Levacher. This growth, which was praised by experts, allowed the economy to regain its share after a period of scarcity. But for how long?

The brand, which was founded in Belgium in 1971 and arrived in France in 1980, has long collaborated with the fast food giant McDonald’s on the French market. It fell in the rankings after seeing 300 of its restaurants go under the Burger King banner following its acquisition by the Bertrand group in 2015.
