But to win this second trophy in its history, Atalanta must defeat Juventus in the final on May 15 as in 2021. In the semi-final return, the Bergamo club dominated Fiorentina (4-1). Beaten in the first leg by Fiorentina (1-0), the Dea started the game in the best possible way by opening the scoring in the eighth minute thanks to Teun Koopmeiner. His prospects improved significantly in the 53rd minute then Fio found themselves reduced to ten after the sending off of Nikola Milenkovic for a tackle on Gianluca Scamacca who was heading for goal.

However, by equalizing in the 68th minute against the run of play thanks to Lucas Martinez Quarta, the Florentines took the upper hand in the results of the two confrontations. But outnumbered, the Tuscan team ended up collapsing at the end of the game, conceding three goals in the last quarter: Scamacca (75′), Lookman (90’+6), Pasalic (90’+8).
