Natalie Portman loves Paris. Despite her separation last February from her husband, French dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, the American actress does not want to leave the capital. On the contrary, she has just acquired a private mansion there for a tidy sum of €15.2 million, she reveals. Challenges.
Her new home is located near the Champ-de-Mars. Natalie Portman knows the area, having previously lived in a rented apartment with her ex-husband and their two children across from the Gardens.
Courtyard, garden and reception room under a glass roof
The private mansion, built in 1912, has an area of 550 square metres. It has a patio, garden and gym on the ground floor. A wrought-iron staircase and elevator to the three floors as well as a glass-roofed reception room, which was added to the roof in the 2000s, serve as a bonus a clear view of the Champ-de-Mars.
After serving as an embassy in the 1980s, like many nearby buildings, the chateau was purchased by businessman Yves Vatelot in 1990. The area is popular with the wealthy. Natalie Portman’s close neighbors will be King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Jan Koum, co-founder of WhatsApp, and real estate developer Olivier Mitterrand, nephew of the former President of the Republic.
