Bang & Olufsen revives the CD player.

The Danish high-end audio brand announces the launch of the Beosystem 9000c, a multi-track CD player based on a similar model from the 1990s.

Classics recreated : re-release of iconic brand items

The luxury world is fully investing in the circular economy. Proof of this is the latest announcement from Bang & Olufsen: the Danish company is relaunching its state-of-the-art six-track CD player in a limited edition. But for this there can be no question of launching a new production; the brand has restored 200 original models – Beosound 9000 – to restore them, reinvent them and offer them for purchase under a new name: Beosystem 9000c.

“The CD players have been disassembled and thoroughly inspected by a team of qualified technicians, many of whom worked on Beosound 9000s in the 1990s on the original workshop benches.”describes the brand in detail in a press release.

The updated version is offered at a price 50,000 euros which matches the Beolab 28 speakers and whose finish has been redesigned to perfectly match modern interiors: “We wanted to enhance the graphical side of Beosound 9000 while maintaining the integrity of the original design. To achieve this, we used an aluminum backplate with a Cosmic Black finish to make the CDs stand out like works of art.”.

A product that is actually part of a more global B&O collection called “Restored classic”. Launched in 2020, this series aims to bring the brand’s iconic products back to life. First project – re-release Beogram 4000c turntable. – has already had a real worldwide success.
