Samsung responds to Chinese competition with style and reliability

The new Galaxy C55 from Samsung is a mid-range model that does not want to leave a chance to mobile phones from Chinese brands that offer a particularly attractive price-performance ratio. It wants to stand out by having a synthetic leather back, a first for the brand, which seems to be directly inspired by popular trends among some Chinese manufacturers such as Oppo, Realme or Honor.
This choice of material not only gives a sophisticated look, but also improves the grip of the device, protecting it from scratches and fingerprints. Moreover, this finish gives a premium look.

Performance and Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy C55 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The front camera, located in the central part, provides a maximum resolution of 50 megapixels with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear array includes a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, providing some shooting versatility. In terms of video, the smartphone supports recording up to Ultra HD resolution and offers slow-motion features.

Under the hood we find a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, powerful enough to provide good everyday performance. The 5,000mAh battery, supporting up to 45W charging via USB-C, promises long battery life suitable for active users. Additionally, the smartphone comes with the latest connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as a flexible dual-SIM slot along with micro SD card insertion.

The Galaxy C55 is currently only available in China, with prices starting at €260 excluding tax for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version and rising to around €300 for the 12GB RAM model. These competitive prices make the C55 a strong contender in the mid-range segment, although Samsung has yet to announce international launch plans.
