Suzuki made the big request

We now better understand why Nick Suzuki declined Canada’s invitation to participate in the World Cup of Hockey. The captain of the Montreal Canadiens had other plans… like proposing.

Suzuki’s girlfriend, Caitlin Fitzgerald, actually announced on Instagram on Wednesday that the couple got engaged.

Lovers are currently enjoying a heavenly vacation at the ultra-luxurious Amanera Hotel in the Dominican Republic.

Suzuki and his girlfriend are both from London, Ontario. They went to the same high school.

There will also be love in the air this summer among Canadians. Three players from the team are getting married: Jake Evans, Josh Anderson and Brendan Gallagher.
