Since April 18, the National Confederation of French Bakery and Pastry Making (CNBPF) launched an extensive citizen consultation to redefine and improve the concept of the French bakery. The bakery stands out not only for its popularity (12 million daily consumers and 6 billion baguettes sold per year), but also for its crucial role in the local economy, with more than 200,000 employees and 30,000 students. This sector forms a crucial bridge between farmers and consumers and strengthens bonds of trust and the social fabric.

Objectives and ambitions of the consultation

Dominique Anract, chairman of the CNBPFstresses that this consultation is the largest ever conducted in the sector. It aims to initiate an in-depth dialogue on economic, social and environmental issues, mobilizing artisans and the general public in a collective process of reflection on the future of baking. Consultation and participation mechanism

Participants can submit their proposals via a QR code in bakeries or directly online. The collected proposals will then be studied and the most popular ones will be presented at the end of June to be implemented from September 2024.
