Moderate increase in outstanding microcredit in 2022

The outstanding amount of microcredits saw a moderate increase in 2022, reaching 8.4 billion dirhams (billion dirhams), an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous year, according to the fourth annual report of the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion (SNIF) .

The report also shows that the average outstanding credit in 2022 amounted to 10,500 dirhams, compared to 9,800 dirhams in 2021. In addition, the number of active customers decreased slightly by 4.9% to reach 795,000 customers at the end of 2022, 47% of whom are women.

As for very small enterprises (VSEs), the number of VSEs served by the sector recorded a significant increase of 112.63%, reaching 32,567 VSEs compared to 15,316 in 2021.
