The mystery of the largest known black hole in our galaxy
Gaia BH3 is the largest celestial object of its type known to date in the Milky Way. Its large mass is a mystery to experts in the evolution of massive stars.

Its mass is 33 times the mass of the Sun. This stellar black hole, the most massive of its kind in the Milky Way, is located in the constellation Aquila, just 2,000 light-years away. (editor’s note: our galaxy is more than 100,000 light years in diameter). It was discovered using data from the Gaia catalog collected by the European Space Agency. His discovery was described by the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics.
