New catalog of scientific equipment platforms

Gustave Eiffel University campuses are equipped with research facilities and infrastructure known as platforms, which contribute to their attractiveness and impact. But what do we mean by “platform”? At Gustave Eiffel University, a platform is more than a simple group of equipment. It is a set consisting of testing infrastructure, equipment, databases, digital tools (models, software) and human resources dedicated to high-level research. They are not limited to just experimental tools; they embody the university’s unique scientific heritage and are the result of deep reflection on adding value to its resources.

With this in mind, Gustave Eiffel University has committed itself to identifying and grouping all its platforms on a dedicated website. This initiative aims to provide a digital showcase of this scientific heritage and make it accessible to everyone, be it researchers, academic, socio-economic partners or students. They offer leading-edge resources in areas ranging from components and systems to environments and territories, including infrastructure and materials, as well as mobility and simulation.

“With this catalogue, our goal is to clearly differentiate ourselves from other establishments. This rich scientific heritage is a real asset as we have a wide range of platforms equipped with technical and human resources to support projects.. »– explains Véronique Cerezo, director of the Lyon campus and project coordinator. “By emphasizing interdisciplinary and multiscale approaches, we can solve complex problems and provide more global answers to our scientific questions. This ability to study phenomena at different scales gives us a completely unique research expertise. »

Each platform presented on the site is accompanied by a detailed description of its areas of specialization, available equipment and collaboration opportunities. Users can quickly find those that suit their needs, be it research, teaching or industrial partnerships, using a filter system.

“Their mission goes far beyond research and experimentation: they are also vectors of innovation and knowledge transfer, thereby contributing to technological progress and the development of science and technology. »– Veronica continues.

By providing an environment conducive to collaboration and discovery, these platforms play an important role in developing skills and promoting scientific excellence at Gustave Eiffel University.
