Google launches Gemini mobile app in Canada

Nearly three months after the launch of generative artificial intelligence (AI) Gemini in Canada, Google is rolling out new features in French, including extensions for its services (Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Docs, etc.) and a mobile app.

Gemini extensions allow you to receive information in real time from Gmail, Docs, Maps, YouTube and other services. According to the web giant, such integration could be useful, for example, for planning a group trip.

You can ask Gemini to get dates from Gmail that work for everyone, find flight and hotel information based on those dates and location, find YouTube videos on what to pack, and summarize the preparation list mentioned in that video, and that’s it this is in one conversation.explains Jules Walter, Google Product Manager, in a blog post.

You always have control over your privacy settings when deciding how to use these extensions, and you can disable them at any time.

The feature launched in Canada in February, at the same time as Gemini, but only in English. It is now also offered in the Tremblay language.
