He is one of the five best coaches for the 2023-2024 Ligue 1 season, according to the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP). The confederation unveiled on Tuesday evening 30 April its selection of the five coaches nominated to receive the UNFP trophy for the best coach in Ligue 1, which will be awarded on 13 May.
Luka Elsner, the coach of Le Havre AC, is there, in very good company. The Slovenian coach shares the bill with Luis Enrique (Paris SG), Paulo Fonseca (Lille), Rouen’s Franck Haise (Lens) and Eric Roy (Brest).
Luka Elsner was already voted best coach in Ligue 2 by the UNFP last year.
Vernon native and former Evreux player, Ousmane Dembele, as well as former FC Rouen player, Pierre-Aymeric Aubameyang, were named in the player of the year category. A native of Rouen, Aurélien Tchouaméni was named in the category of best French player playing abroad.
