Unusual: Who will buy Queen Elizabeth II’s former personal Jaguar and its incredible James Bond-style options?

The late Queen’s 2001 Daimler Majestic is now up for sale. And you don’t have to be a member of the royal family to get it.

The image of the Queen driving her Jaguar has always amazed me and has never traveled around the world. A great car collector (with a stable worth $16 million), Elizabeth II owned unique Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Jaguar models.

The 2001 Daimler Majestic that the Queen owned until 2007 is back in the news today as it is currently up for sale.

The release of this exceptional model was announced by auction specialist Bonhams.

Queen Elizabeth II owned this prestigious car until 2007, when it was returned to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. For 11 years, the car was in the private collection of the owner, who cared for it and kept it in “immaculate” condition in a heated garage.

According to Bonhams, the sale is “a very rare opportunity to own a car that Her Majesty personally selected and drove.”

“When Royal cars come to market they are treated with the utmost respect. This incomparable Daimler is sure to make an exceptional addition to any collection,” said the auction specialist, who estimates the starting price to be between $45,000 and $75,000. About fifty offers have already been made public, the largest of which is $59,000.

The odometer shows 26,000 km.

The peculiarity of the car for sale is that it has a set of options worthy of the best James Bond gadgets.

Finished in British Racing Green, the Daimler has a cream leather interior, has four doors and is powered by a 4-litre V8 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.

The Majestic has only 16,200 miles (26,000 km) on it and is in excellent condition.

A silver plaque on the dashboard reminds us that the Queen owned the car from June 2001 to July 2005.

Amazing options make everything about the car exceptional. An original Jaguar/Motorola car telephone was installed in the armrest for Her Majesty. In front of this armrest there are control buttons for the entire range of column lighting. The center console, which also has a tray for Elizabeth II’s famous handbags.

However, bidders already know that the car has some blemishes, as it is missing “some thin red stripes” and that there is a “small dent on the front passenger door and rear fender.” There is nothing to indicate whether these influences are the work of the queen.

Let’s remember that the Queen was the only person in Britain who could drive a car without a license and license plates on her state car. She was never required to take a real driving test.
