After the European Cup, HBC Nantes bounces back against Chambéry

HBC Nantes won against Chambéry (34-26), during the 27th day of the Starligue, this Saturday, May 4. It took some time, but the people of Nantes managed to break away from their opponents. Until it unfolds at the end of the meeting.

During the first period, leading the scoring, they missed a number of opportunities to equalize. But the Savoyards never got it done (15-13, at half-time). But on the other side, the H did not shine in the goal, both on long shots and from six meters.

The H mastered the end of the match

And in defense the sanctions fell. Grégory Cojean’s players were penalized with six throws in seven metres. Two of Biosca’s three saves this year were not rewarded. The Spanish goalkeeper finished these first 30 minutes with 41% success in the duels. A completely different face compared to last Tuesday, in the European Cup.

But from the second period it only took two attacks to see Chambéry on the coast of Nantes on the scoreboard (15-15, 32′). And for around ten minutes it was the same Savoyards who were in a better position, maintaining a one-goal lead over the locals. Before that was another seven-metre throw from Valero Rivera (21-20, 43′).

This new move up front launched Kauldi Odriozola, clinical on his wing, and Thibaud Briet, in control tower mode in defense (26-21, 47′). Once the finishing problem was solved and good balls recovered, Nantes rolled forward. The trip to Montpellier next week will be more comfortable with at least four points ahead of the opposition.
