Samuel Desgrippes long feared that the meeting between his team from ASPTT Caen and La Selle-la-Forge would have the same scenario as the first stage. In Orne, Postiers, who led 1-0 and who had wasted a number of chances, saw the opponent equalize at the end of the match (1-1). This Saturday, May 4, 2024, the yellow and black took the advantage at the end of the first quarter and had to wait until the 88th minute to cover definitively (2-0).
ASPTT opens the scoring…
It was the young Teddy Guyon, one of the two U19s picked up by Samuel Desgrippes to strengthen the team, who opened the scoring, taking advantage of an unfortunate slip from Maël Bouteloup, his direct opponent, to shoot Nathan Bizet (1-0.17 . ). Hardly dangerous, Ornais then saw with relief that their goalkeeper won face-to-face with Vincent De Albuquerque (29th), then the same player, narrowly missing the target from a cross from Louka Saint-Clair (32nd).
…but is slow to take the break
Should we start the game to score the second goal or take the lead on the scoreboard? For a long time it seemed that the teammates of Kévin Lemonnier hesitated with the strategy to apply. And as opposed, the players of Viano Mendés were determined to play their luck to the fullest, the game remained tied for a long time, too long in the eyes of the postman coach who urged his players to attack.
Those from La Selle-la-Forge thus had a few opportunities to score. Ilyas Yeni, after a one-two with Léo Martel, was too greedy by attempting too many dribbles (59th), then Lorry Levionnois had to work to deflect an attempt from Bryan Boissée into the corner (66th). Earlier, Louis Bretteville had failed in a face-to-face with the Ornais goalkeeper (63rd). His opposite number was still very alert in deflecting a shot from Raidwan Vannier (66th) with a firm tap.
ASPTT almost maintained
The locals sensed the danger, led by Maxime Roynel, pushed their actions a little further and multiplied the heated situations in front of the Ornais goal. They were to be rewarded with a second goal from Teddy Guyon, the winner of his face-to-face with Nathan Bizet (2-0, 88th) that definitively sealed the fate of the match… and perhaps the fate of the season.

Reaction from Samuel Desgrippes (ASPTT Caen):
“It is a match similar to the one in the first phase in the sense that we have the feeling of controlling the opponent except that as long as we have not broken, we leave them alive, we give hope. If we had been two goals ahead at half-time, we would have clearly done better in the second game. We had clear chances but we wasted too much and in the end we left too much time between our two goals. A word about La Selle who never finished the game, who played everything with their guns, making it an enjoyable game to play and watch. »
