Morocco: 16,171 companies founded at the end of February

According to the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC), the number of companies created in Morocco in the first two months of 2024 reached 16,171 units.

These companies are divided between legal entities (11,642) and individuals (4,529), as the OMPIC specifies in the general dashboard of its barometer for company creation.

The sectoral distribution highlights the dominance of trade with a share of 35.03%, followed by construction and public works (BTP) and real estate activities (19.14%), miscellaneous services (18.17%), transport (8 .52%) and industries (7.51%). ), hotels and restaurants (5.51%), ICT sector – Information and communication technologies (2.51%), financial activities (1.99%) and agriculture and fishing (1.62%), reports the same source.

By region, Casablanca-Settat dominates the rankings with 4,972 companies founded at the end of February, ahead of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (2,483), Marrakech-Safi (1,849), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (1,813), Fès-Meknes (1,100) , Souss-Massa (1,069), Oriental (947), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (658), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (472), Drâa-Tafilalet (423), Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab (266) and Guelmim-Oued noun (119).

In terms of legal form, the single-member limited liability company (SARL AU) ranks first with a share of 66%, followed by the public limited liability company (SARL) with 33.4%.
