LPHF | The Montreal team will face Boston in the semi-finals

(Toronto) The Montreal team of the Professional Women’s Hockey League will face the Boston team in the semi-finals.

This result follows the decision of the Toronto team, first in the final standings, to choose to face Minnesota in the preliminary round.

The general manager of the Toronto team, Gina Kingsbury, announced the decision during a video conference on Monday night.

The first two games of the three-of-five series between Montreal and Boston will take place on Thursday and Saturday, each time at 7:00 p.m., at Place Bell. Game 3 follows at the Tsongas Center in Lowell on Tuesday, May 14.

If games four and five are necessary, they will take place on Thursday, May 16 in Lowell and Sunday, May 19 at Place Bell, respectively.

The final will also be the best of five games.

Montreal (10-3-6-5) had 41 points to finish second, six points ahead of third-place Boston (8-4-9-3).

The two clubs met on four occasions during the regular season, with Kori Cheverie’s team winning two games, including one in overtime.

The two teams finished their respective regular seasons on Saturday in Lowell and the Boston team sealed a 4-3 victory thanks to a goal scored late in the third period.

This victory achieved in regular time allowed Boston to qualify for the playoffs and finish in third place.
