Health: PPPs in the starting blocks

For once, private sector doctors feel they have been heard. The reports to the guardianship were therefore ultimately successful. After an initial conversation with the Director of Personnel Affairs, the Minister reiterates his commitment to take the grievances of private doctors into account in the implementation texts of the PPP.

Great relief was felt among doctors in the private sector following the correspondence sent to them by the Health Minister on April 23. A response praised by the National Collective of Liberal Doctors, which was behind the opening of the dialogue on the implementation of the law on the partnership between doctors in the public sector and doctors in the private sector.

Middle way
In a prior notice, the collective had expressed to the supervisory authority its fears that the end of this partnership, according to the union, could harm doctors in the private sector. The financial situation of some doctors was also on the list of grievances. In addition, there is the heavy tax burden on the members of this company due to the status granted to them, namely that of natural person. Liberal physicians also emphasized the excessive liberalism prevalent in health care. Complaints that the supervisor listened attentively during a meeting on April 16. During this meeting, the Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Health urged participatory decision-making.

At the same time, the collective was promised to exercise a right of review of the law and its implementing texts before submitting them for approval. Complaints submitted are also taken into account. And to support this commitment, the minister sent a letter to the collective following the latest discussions between both parties. He highlighted the crucial role that private sector doctors play in improving healthcare delivery, as well as their commitment to the success of health reforms.

Regarding the PPP, the Minister spoke about the importance of this collaboration, which was likely to promote the development of the sector. Ait Taleb thus reiterated his commitment by specifying that there will be a review of the implementing texts and a fair legal framework will be put in place so as not to harm any of the stakeholders. Needless to say, this correspondence greatly delighted the liberal doctors, who say they have finally been heard.
