Pandakroo is on display until the end of May at Very Yes Gallery

Pandacro’s artistic concept rejects plastic and aesthetic differences around this central character, the panda. But not only that.. His new exhibition, “Asobiba,” which he opened on May 3, will continue until the end of the month, in the Saint-Pierre Gallery, “Very Yes” (Photos by Dr.

For those who know who’s behind Ant, also known as Pandacro, consider yourself lucky because it’s a real franchise! Indeed, like his counterpart Jess, the street artist masterfully cultivates the art of discretion, literally applying the famous adage “to live happy, live incognito.”

Illustrations and paintings showing the panda in various graphic forms that you have undoubtedly encountered on the street corner, on the wall, that’s it!

In drawing, drawing, ink, collage or volumes, the plastic arts teacher, whose talent no longer needs to be demonstrated, presents his personality with quiet force in various shapes, situations and theatrical performances, whatever the media: canvases, paper, cardboard, posters. Or surfboards, skateboards or simply on the street. The calligraphy is exquisite, the style is polished to millimeter precision… exquisite art to be discovered until the end of the month in Asobiba, his second solo exhibition at Fairy Yes Gallery, which opened on May 3rd.

In Japanese, “asobiba” means “playground” and we can’t count them, there are so many of them in the Land of the Rising Sun where Pandacro resides in 2020. Four years later, with great inspiration, he invites us to dive into the world of an author. From games with shapes, shapes, colors and techniques, through a new series of around sixty drawings, paintings and wooden installations that reference the famous game of Tétris. A strong desire not to limit yourself to just one style without “throwing away” your favorite character.

“I’m known more for what I do on the street than for the shacks where the big panda is behind his counter, even if I try to separate myself from it a little. The abstract part of my paintings is gradually taking precedence at the risk of displeasing some. “But at least it allows me to present something other than Organized,” explains Bandacro, who also resides at La Friche au Port to work on the large formats that will be brought back at the end of November.

“My main activity is still gallery which has a more advanced, exploratory approach than street gallery which remains very comic and illustrative while taking the gallery further. I have the luxury of being able to do what I like, without any stress or pressure.” “With complete discretion,” concludes Ant, who will also exhibit his works in duo with the graffiti artist Air1duc, at the beginning of June at Notte Caz, in Paris.

For those who missed the opening with the artist, a catch-up session is on May 25 with copy signings and dedications. A one-shot gallery not to be missed, and what’s more, it’s free!

Beautiful Pand’aventure…-

The Pandakroo adventure began in 1999 in Saint-Etienne with the meeting between Annt and Etc., and with the creation of a collection of drawings entitled “Panda”. The artistic concept that Ant carries today, rejects the plastic and aesthetic differences around the central figure of the panda, in drawing, in drawing, in ink, in collage or in scale in different shapes, positions and staging and on different media.

You will notice that pandas do not chatter, and for good reason, they prefer to avoid all kinds of semantic chatter to focus on the action, or to observe the horizon full of slow promises coming, calling for somewhere else… They seem like so many alter egos of the artist, this big genius child who… He invents his own rules to suggest new, playful and resistant ways of being in the world: in balance, poetry and resourcefulness.
