the Egyptian club starts hostilities

A few days before the final of the African Confederation Cup (CAF) between Renaissance Sportive de Berkane and Zamalek Cairo, the Egyptian club stepped up to challenge the arbitration of this North African confrontation.

Let’s go! Zamalek SC launches the controversy surrounding the arbitration even before the final between the two protagonists scheduled back and forth on May 12 and 19.

The Cairo club disputes the presence on the refereeing body for the two rounds of the final of referees of the same nationality as the coach of Berkane Renaissance, the Tunisian Mouine Chaabani.

The Cairo club, in a correspondence addressed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), asks to proceed with the change of the referees in question, arguing for equal opportunities as well as the controversy or confusion that the presence of these Tunisian referees in the position would cause video assistance to referees ( OUR).

As a reminder, the CAF Referees Committee appointed Kenyan Peter Waweru Kamaku as the center referee for the first leg in Berkane. He will be assisted by his compatriots Gilbert Cheruiyot and Stephen Elezar Onyango. The fourth referee will be Burandese Pacific Ndabihawenimana.

As for the second leg in Cairo, it will be refereed by Senegalese referee Issa Sy who will be assisted by his compatriots Gabriel Camara and Nouha Bangoura, while the fourth referee will be Somali Abdulkadir Artan. Pierre Atcho, of Gabon, will be on VAR, assisted by Maria Rivet of Mauritius and Khalil Hassani of Tunisia.
