The Bedouin Cinédanse Festival will stop in September and Ochat and Moisé in July

After Montreal, Ottawa, Rouyn-Noranda and Caraquete, the Cinédanse Bedouin Festival will stop in the September region from July 23 to 28. Founder Sylvain Bleu wants the art of dance to flourish on the banks of the St. Lawrence River and the Moise River.

The event will include performances at the Old Post Office in Ochat, workshops, exhibitions and more. It is organized in collaboration with Septilienne artist Johan Rossi, the Musée de la Côte-Nord, the Shaputuan Museum, the city and the Cégep de Sept-Îles. Under the theme: “Healing Wounds/Nanatushitishutau,” Cinédanse will also present workshops on “Fon Dance/Pakutishkuauat nimuat” in the pre-festival period from May 22 to 25 with New York choreographer Tamar Rogoff.

“What makes the North Shore so rich is that it is far from the main centers and is full of heritage of enormous value. “Music, visual arts, poetry and stories are very present there,” says La Caravane de Phoebus director and Cinédanse producer Sylvain Bleu.

Guest artists include Innu poet and storyteller Joséphine Bacon, choreographer Sylvie Mercier (Tadoussac), dancer Mikael Xstra-Montminy, the troupe TAM T-DILAM (September-L), French-Moroccan singer Toufic (Montreal) and directors Thérèse Ottau (Manawan) and Béatrice Mediavilla (Rouin-Noranda), Montrealer Ariane Boulet, dancers Monique Léger from the Acadia Peninsula and Lana Morton from Ottawa, New York choreographers and performers Gilles Guyon and Karine Bernard, French artists Olivia Grandville (La Rochelle) and Thierry Thie Niang (Paris), as well as choreographer Choreographer and performer Simone Gomes (Belgium-Senegal).
