Villefranche de Rouge. Crazy oats/. Florence Castelbaugh presents her book

Florence Castelbo’s book can be found at La Folle Avoine. “12 stories, 12 places in Aveyron, 12 human stories.” A poetic journey through the lands of Aveyron written by a great-grandfather to his granddaughter with love and tenderness.

Ruthenian author Florence Castelbault, a self-taught photographer, grew up in a family of hotel and restaurateurs in the village of Saint-Génez-d’Ault. From a Marmot mother and a Milavois father, both passionate about books, she inherited a taste for words and writing. A self-taught photographer, she posts Les Florentines and her artistic, architectural and other favorites on social networks, thus placing her texts and images with passion and dedication at the service of Aveyron’s heritage.

The idea of the book: “When he first saw, under a finely knit pink wool hat, the half-closed eyes of his first granddaughter, he remained in awe for a long time, contemplative and silent. Beneath his gruff exterior, there was a true gentleness in his movements, a boundless love of beautiful words, and, most surprisingly, the soul of a poet. He was convinced that this was the most precious family heirloom one could leave to his loved ones. That was the story of words. So, he wanted to present this wonderful little being with a collection of 12 short stories that combined family tales, the legacy of Aveyron dear to his heart, and his usual glowing imagination. He called them: The 12 tales. “
