The national selection of LiberiaTHE Lone starand teams from three other African countries qualified for the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers in Morocco.
THE LiberiaTHE ChadEswatini and South Sudan snagged their ticket to allow them to play the group stage of the playoffs CAN 2025.
The 4 qualified countries
Liberia took the lead over Djibouti on Tuesday 26 March in Monrovia after the second leg was drawn 0-0. During the first stage Liberia had beaten Djibouti 2-0.
Before playing the return match at home against Djibouti, the Liberian players were received on Monday March 25 at the Presidency in Monrovia by the President Joseph Boakai.
The latter expressed his pride at the performance of the national team which had beaten the Djibouti team in Morocco. He assured the players that his government will pay special attention to promoting sports in the country.
While Eswatini drew 2-2 with Somalia in South Africa to qualify for the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers CAN 2025THE Chad in turn, beat Mauritius 2-1 to qualify.
When it comes to South Sudan, he had a 0-0 draw against Sao Tome and Principe in Morocco. THE South Sudan had won an away match with 1-1.
After this stage of preliminary competitions LiberiaTHE ChadEswatini and South Sudan will prepare for the playoff phase. They join 44 African countries excluded from pre-qualification.
It remains for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to set a date for the draw for the qualifiers.
