The “Morocco 200” is an initiative sponsored by the Ministry to cover 95% of the participation costs of these 200 Moroccan startups, with the aim of guaranteeing them the best conditions for access to this great mass. The participation of these young innovative Moroccan companies in Gitex Africa Morocco enables Morocco to shine on the world stage in the areas of digital innovation, digital entrepreneurship and technological financing.

The event is of paramount importance and highlights the ambition to become a true regional and continental hub in the digital field, reflecting the Ministry’s continued commitment to promoting digital development in the country, said Ms. Mezzour.

The organization of GITEX Africa Morocco fits perfectly with the direction of the ministry’s overall strategy aimed at boosting digital growth in Morocco, she continued.

For his part, the representative of GITEX Africa, Chakib Achour, underlined that this event aims to create “a bold future” for Africa, specifying that the sectors covered by GITEX 2024 include cloud, IoT, telecommunications, infrastructure, healthcare, smart cities, cybersecurity, digital finance, agritech and consumer technology.

This year, GITEX will offer a special matchmaking service with more than 600 planned meetings between startups, investors and companies, as well as meetings with more than 1,500 exhibitors, including public institutions and technology operators, investment funds, investments and other players in the ecosystem, he said .

The event will see the participation of 130 countries and promote international exchanges and partnerships, indicating that GITEX Africa has the potential to become a vital platform for innovation and economic development in Africa, Mr Achour said.

For her part, the General Director of the Technopark, Lamiae Benmakhlouf, argued that this year this roadshow has redoubled its efforts to highlight the potential of Morocco, which is packed with skills, and calls on entrepreneurs to seize this opportunity to to benefit from technical support and financial support from the ministry.

During this event, new partnerships will be established, with the aim of exchanging and internationalizing Moroccan startups, she indicated. She announced that the roadshow will make stops in all cities hosting Technopark locations this year and possibly in the Kingdom’s 12 regions next year.

Furthermore, Brahim Ouamane, Director of the Digital Ecosystem at the Digital Development Agency (ADD), affirmed that the main objective of GITEX Africa Morocco is to bring out a generation of young entrepreneurs capable of taking on the challenge of development, and to support the country. in its digital transition project.
