FRMF will continue to rely on Walid Regragui

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) has commented on the future of Walid Regragui, who is the subject of rumors of a departure following the Atlas Lions’ “mediocre” performance during the March Rally.

Walid Regragui is in revolt. Heavily criticized by supporters after the performances deemed “weak” by the Moroccan withdrawal against Angola (1-0) and Mauritania (0-0) in friendlies, the Mountakhab coach is at the heart of a debate over his continued management of the Atlas Lions .

According to a source within the FRMF, quoted by Hesport, the FRMF does not seem to share the same opinion as some supporters who are calling for his departure and confirmed that it will continue to put all its trust in the former Wydad of Casablanca on the sidelines of the 2025 African Cup of Nations which is played at home, and the 2026 World Cup.

In this sense, the Moroccan body denies all rumors that it intends to make changes to the level of the technical staff, rejecting any information that reflects negotiations with other coaches to prepare an alternative plan.
