Soltis has been working in Guinea since 2008 in the field of HIV infection: innovative approaches to knowledge of serostatus (self-screening), early diagnosis and treatment of HIV in mothers and newborns, and caregiving relationships. Soltis also works on issues of sexual and reproductive rights.
Solthis operates from an office in Conakry with the possibility of regional expansion in accordance with its development plan for 2024 and the coming years.
In 2024, a new project will be implemented: the “SUCCESS” project for screening and treatment of precancerous lesions of the cervix.
This project aims to strengthen screening and early treatment of cervical cancer in Guinea in partnership with the National Program against Cancer (PNLCC) and the National Program against HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis (PNLSH) through intervention in health care facilities. and in communities in the Conakry and Kindia regions. It will target women living with HIV (WHIV), women in general and sex workers (SW), offering initial HPV-PCR screening (currently not available in Guinea).
These measures require effective management and supply of health products to achieve their goals. This involves strengthening the existing management and procurement system, as well as strengthening the functional link between health structures and laboratories.

For the successful implementation of our project we are looking for:

Consultant specializing in supply and inventory (GAS) management of health products – Guinea

Contract duration: Approximately 20 days (remote and on site)
Reason for appointment: Conakry
Availability : April – June 2024

MISSION GOALS

Under the responsibility of the Program Coordinator, the GAS Health Products Specialist Consultant will be responsible for providing expertise and strengthening the capacity of partners in activities related to the supply and inventory management of health products related to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer. , HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B. He will ensure that optimal management is implemented throughout the supply chain and will work closely with institutional partners to quantify new products.
To this end, he/she, in cooperation with the institutions responsible for the GAS of medical supplies and the target medical centers, will carry out the following activities:

1. Participates in initial diagnostics to assess needs and develop plans to build project capacity.

2. Participates in the definition and review of care pathways deployed throughout the health care pyramid and ensures their proper functioning, especially with regard to communication between the community, health care facilities and laboratories from sampling to results.

3. Participates in defining, monitoring and reporting project indicators related to GAS and laboratory activities: instrument development and monitoring, quality of data collection and analysis.

4. Manages the procurement of resources needed for the project:
o Quantifying resource requirements.
o Selection and conclusion of contracts with suppliers.
o Development of a supply plan.
o Monitoring of procurement procedures.
o Determination of storage conditions for HPV materials.

EXPECTED RESULTS

  • Contracts with suppliers.
  • Mapping stakeholders in the biomedical supply chain in Guinea.
  • Mapping, functionality and capabilities of molecular biology laboratories available in the project area (Conakry and Kindia).
  • Mission report.

REQUIRED PROFILE

Initial training : You have a higher education (2nd cycle) in the field of pharmacy.
Experience : You must have at least 5 years of experience managing supply and inventory of healthcare products (including diagnostic and laboratory products) in low-resource countries.
You were also responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of activities related to
pharmacy and laboratory at the institutional level, as well as at the level of health care structures.
You learn the procedures for purchasing health products internationally.
Experience working in Guinea will be a plus.
Qualities : You communicate easily in French, both orally and in writing, and are known for your listening skills, diplomacy and pedagogy. You benefit from very good analytical and synthesis skills.
Others: You own an office suite.
