Four days after this deplorable incident against the Atlas Lions, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Saudi Arabian Football Players’ Association (PFA) published a joint statement expressing their deep dismay at these shameful scenes. “We completely condemn the incident”
The safety of players and spectators is presented as an absolute priority for the associations, which strongly condemn the incident: ” Like all member associations of the AFC and FIFA in general, SAFF’s priority is to preserve the safety and enjoyment of all those who enjoy watching and playing football. This is why the actions of this so-called ‘fan’ go against everything that Saudi Arabian football stands for and we condemn the incident completely.
