Tennis: Nadal eliminated by De Minaur in 2nd round in Barcelona

Rafael Nadal, who returned this week after an absence of more than three months, was eliminated in the second round of the Barcelona tournament by Australian Alex De Minaur (11th) 7-5, 6-1 on Wednesday.

The Spaniard, with 22 Grand Slam titles, withstood his opponent in a set, before giving up, without betraying any physical discomfort.

Plagued by recurring pain, he had not played on the ATP circuit until this week since suffering a hip injury in Brisbane in early January.
