Incontinence and Urinary Incontinence: An Innovative Solution to Solve the Problem

The natural processes of aging, childbirth and menopause can contribute to the development of incontinence. In North America alone, the number of people suffering from urinary incontinence is estimated at 16 million. In fact, almost 85% of women suffer from it. If you are one of those who avoid laughing loudly, coughing or sneezing in public for fear of overcrowding, this article about B-Pulse technology will be of great interest to you!

While still little known, this option is a great solution for women of all ages who deal with these symptoms on a daily basis. We spoke to Roxanne Saint-Laurent from St-Laurent Médico-Esthétique, who offers this technology in its branches in Sherbrooke and Saint-Hyacinthe and is very enthusiastic about the results.

“This solution represents a significant advance in the treatment of urinary incontinence, improves quality of life and brings welcome relief!” — Roxanne Saint-Laurent, nurse, owner of Médico-Esthétique clinics.

What is B-Pulse (pelvic stool)?

The B-Pulse (pelvic chair) is a Health Canada approved non-invasive device used to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to effectively reduce all types of incontinence (stress incontinence, urge incontinence or mixed). By strengthening the pelvic floor muscles, this innovative technology offers both a preventive and curative solution.

How it works?

B-Pulse (pelvic chair) is a high intensity electromagnetic technology that works deep at the muscle level. This is a passive way of intensely training the pelvic floor to reduce urinary incontinence.

One of the most well-known methods is Kegel exercises, which involve contracting muscles to strengthen the pelvic hammock and better support the bladder. However, doing Kegel exercises on your own every day can be time-consuming, tiring, and sometimes frustrating. Thanks to B-Pulse technology (pelvic chair), 30 minutes of treatments are equivalent to performing 13,000 Kegel exercises. Progress actually happens faster because it’s like a super workout for your pelvic floor.

Is it painful?

Never! Rather, we feel very fast vibrations. There are no electric shocks. The sensation may vary from person to person, but it is a comfortable treatment. Most people return to their daily activities without experiencing noticeable discomfort.

Because the treatment involves a high calorie expenditure, you may feel slightly tired in the evening, as if you had been exercising intensely. Therefore, it is advisable to drink a lot of water and consume more proteins.

What happens during the session?

During your initial consultation, our team will assess your health and determine if this treatment is right for you. As a nurse by training, I personally provide consultations, then conduct assessments to fully understand the client’s causes and symptoms for follow-up.

After the consultation, patients sit on the B-Pulse chair (pelvic chair). You come to the session in comfortable clothes and stay dressed, there are no invasive devices either; Our trained technician will take control of the process by turning on the B-Pulse machine (pelvic chair) and then you will take control of the intensity. Obviously the goal is to achieve 100% intensity, but most clients achieve this from the first meeting. After completing treatment, patients can leave the clinic with all the benefits!

The session lasts 30 minutes. In most cases, we aim for a duration of 6 to 10 treatments. Then, as with any exercise, there are follow-up steps to consolidate what you have learned. We aim to hold sessions approximately every two to three months.

Who are the clients of the B-Pulse (pelvic stool) procedure?

If we are talking about stress incontinence, the clientele is over 40 years old. Urge incontinence usually occurs around age 65. However, every woman is individual and unique. It varies depending on the number of births as well as several factors such as illness, accident or even genetics.

What do clients notice?

That they see improvement in their incontinence after the second course of treatment. This is truly inspiring! The treatment is very useful for pain in the pelvic area (after childbirth, injury or weakness of the pelvic floor). B-Pulse (pelvic stool) can also help increase libido in women. Indeed, strengthening the pelvic floor helps increase blood flow to the genitals, stimulating the production of endorphins to increase libido.

I wink a little at the gentlemen

The benefits of strengthening the pelvic floor muscles extend to men, helping with erections and premature ejaculation. Electromagnetic stimulation can improve ejaculation control and reduce penile sensitivity. Strengthening these muscles also improves blood circulation in the pelvic area, leading to firmer and longer-lasting erections. This holistic approach improves men’s sexual health and satisfaction.

Great solution without risk!
