Anael Chaudier from North Ardéchoise has been working as a dietician since 2015 and working as a freelancer since 2018. That’s why in the Annone Basin she goes to her clients’ homes for individual consultations. At the same time, she opened her practice in Maklas, where she also provides consultations.

Feeding small children

While Anaëlle Chaudier works with all children under the age of 18, inter alia, on issues of overweight and obesity, she specializes in the nutrition of young children, in particular oral diseases. She describes this complex disorder succinctly: “I care for children under 6 years of age who are not eating, for example after medication or frequent vomiting. It is actually a practical and sensory disorder, there is nothing psychological about it. Therefore, I work together with a speech therapist who makes a diagnosis. He is functional and can be rehabilitated. My role is to empower food. »

Four typical snack recipes

Anael Chaudier performs as part of Familles en fête. On Monday, April 22, she will host a cooking class and snack panel discussion, “Almost the Perfect Snack!” ?.

To mark the occasion, she will invite families to prepare four typical snack recipes that she will share with us. “These are quick and easy to make recipes that are healthy and healthy for kids. I tried banana pancakes without eggs and therefore limited the amount of protein. “The kids eat them by the handful,” she assures us. I also tried curd verrines with strawberries and sponge cake. Cottage cheese can be replaced if the child does not like it. The goal is to show what we can do with simple and raw products and to prove that we can find good industrial products. »

To offer a wide range of snack ideas, the chef came up with two more recipes: “We’ll make a banana and mango milkshake and apple and almond waffles. »

She uses local and seasonal fruits as much as possible to make these recipes.

“Chocolate should be limited to three years old”

She warns: “Chocolate should be avoided until one is a year old because sugar is not recommended at this age,” warns the nutritionist. This food should be limited even before the age of three as it contains a lot of caffeine and nickel. » All her recipes have already been tested and approved by the children she supervises or during master classes.

But before we get into practice, Anaël Chaudier will give specific and simple tips about the amount of sugar present in foods, or even how to read labels.

The importance of prevention

In addition, Anaelle Chaudier has assigned the Annone Ron-Agglo Early Childhood Center one Saturday every two months to talk with parents and grandparents, in particular on the issues of feeding children. “I work, for example, on dietary diversification, that is, in what order to introduce foods,” she explains.

His next talk will be on June 8th on food neophobia.

Anaëlle Chaudier also holds conferences on diabetes as a preventative measure: “It is important to make the information available to as many people as possible,” she emphasizes.
