Céline Boutier and Perrine Delacour not in the cut, a duo in the lead

There is no longer a French representative entered in the first major of the LPGA season. Céline Boutier got off to a poor start with her score of 75 on Thursday and was unable to recover during this second round. The Frenchwoman had started well thanks to two birdies on the first four holes, but she made a mistake, letting in a double bogey on 5 and chaining two bogeys on holes 9 and 11. Despite a final birdie validated at 13, the six-time winner on the American circuit signed a score of 73 and finished in 84th place (+4 overall), too far from the cut line, set at +2.

Her compatriot, Perrine Delacour, almost punched her ticket for moving day, but her round of 70 (three birdies, one bogey) was ultimately not enough. The Frenchman failed very close to the target in 74th place (+3 overall), just like Megan Khang, Jin Young Ko and Albane Valenzuela.

Me and Thitikul have the power

Jin Hee Im and Atthaya Thitikul never leave each other. Already tied for the record 69 on Thursday, the two players both completed the course in 67 shots during this second round. Thus, the South Korean rookie and the young Thai prodigy took the lead together (-8 in total).

“Coming here this week, I think it’s already good to get by because I haven’t been here for so longresponded Atthaya Thitikul, referring to his recent thumb injury. Starting my season with a big week is not that easy, so I think from now on it’s just a bonus for me. You just have to go out there, be positive, smile and do your best. »

Korda is not missing

Just behind, on the third step on the podium (-7 in total), Nelly Korda is of course also on the pace. However, the Floridian, who has four straight victories on the LPGA Tour, was initially weighed down by a double bogey on her first hole.

But the world number 1 did not give up and gradually managed to reverse the trend to finally return a card of 69 (thanks to six birdies and despite another bogey). The 25-year-old golfer is therefore more than ever in the fight to achieve an improbable fifth success in a row.

Hae Ran Ryu ranks alone in 4th place (-6 overall). Five players then follow in 5th place (-5). We find Shinsil Bang, Weiwei Zhang, Maja Stark, Minami Katsu and Lauren Coughlin. Surprising leader after 18 holes, the latter had a more difficult Friday ending with a score of 73 (one eagle, three bogeys). The top 10 is completed by seven other competitors who share 10th place (-4). This group is especially made up of Anna Nordqvist and Lydia Ko.

The third round of the Chevron Championship can be followed live on Journal du golf TV (channel 172 on Orange, 187 on Free and 193 on Bbox) this Saturday from
