Screening for chronic diseases

With 100% support from health insurance, citizens interested in My Prevention Report began receiving invitations.

These 30 to 45 minute preventive assessments will be divided into three phases. The first will identify possible risks, and the other two will prioritize risks and allow the development of an individual preventive action plan (PAP).

There are many things that will be taken into account during this assessment. Medical history will be analyzed as well as lifestyle habits. for example, diet or physical activity. The meeting will also discuss vaccinations, weight management and mental wellbeing.

Remember that chronic diseases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), are leading cause of global mortality. These diseases, which last for a long time (six months or more), develop slowly and do not tend to cure. It is important to identify and treat chronic diseases as quickly as possible, as they can affect daily and professional life. Improving patients’ quality of life and increasing their independence will enable them to access work that is compatible with their living conditions and thus participate more easily in social and daily life.

According to WHO, in 2030 there will be more people over 65 than people under 15, and chronic diseases will account for 86% of deaths in Europe. Health Insurance Ayrault points out that “this increase in the proportion of older people will not be without consequences for health and the occurrence of diseases, especially chronic diseases, and disability. However, a significant proportion of chronic diseases are associated with preventable or modifiable risk factors. Therefore, prevention is important.”
