Arrests of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank continue

The Jewish State Army arrested 15 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, the Commission for the Affairs of Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners (which depends on the Palestinian Authority) and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (an independent organization) reported on Wednesday. .

With these new arrests, the total number of Palestinians arrested in this territory since October 7 is 8,445, according to the two Palestinian organizations in a joint press release, a copy of which was obtained by Anadolu.

Most of the recent arrests, the statement said, were concentrated in the provinces of Nablus and Jenin, with others in Ramallah, Jerusalem and Hebron.

The data of the two Palestinian organizations refer to “those still arrested and those who were subsequently released.”

Since the outbreak of the Gaza War on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military has intensified its military operations in the occupied West Bank, causing 487 deaths and 4,900 injuries. It also arrested thousands of Palestinians and destroyed infrastructure in several towns and villages in the territory.

The Israeli army is waging an all-out war in the Gaza Strip, backed by Washington, which has killed thousands of Palestinians, mostly women and children.

The conflict has also caused “massive destruction and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster,” according to the UN.
